I totally agree with you about Jojo Moyes’ recent leanings, but Giver of Stars is totally worth reading.
As a lover of ACOTAR, I enjoyed Silver Flames but, in my mind, it didn’t really add to the completion of the overall series. It was also felt gratuitously spicy and I found myself skipping over some of the sexy parts because there were so many.
I think you will really love How High We Go in the Dark-it's strange but oddly addicting. I still think about it, and I read it a couple of years ago. I did like the Jojo Moyes book-it felt very different than her other books. Fascinating story!
Sounds like I'm a much more casual fan of Babs than you are, but obviously she's an icon! I loved her memoir on audio! Her narration is excellent, of course, and it also includes snippets of source material (like music) when applicable.
I am in exactly the same boat with ACOSF! 😂 And here I thought I was the only one. Funny, I was just telling someone about this the other day, so now it’s come up twice in a week! Maybe it’s a sign that it’s time for me to read it.
I loved a lot about Chain Gang All Stars but the fight/action scenes bored me to tears.
Ditto this! Loved the themes and concept of the book, but the reading experience was not nearly as enjoyable for me as it seemed for so many others.
See. Hmm. We shall see about it. 😉

Thanks for sharing your insight! Much appreciated. ❤️

“Strange but oddly addicting” sounds perfect.

Oh! I hadn’t heard about that — I may have to do a combo read/listen. 👏
Reading your post is a 5*
Thank you!!

I also felt like I was the only one. I guess this is also my sign to go ahead with it. 😆
Well, you just added Pied Piper to my TBR! I absolutely loved A Town Like Alice.
This sounds like one that shouldn't be skipped.
I’m interested in both now!
I think you’d love A Town Like Alice, LeAnne.
Just added it to the list!
Could the reason book of the month picks accumulate on your shelf be that the minute you ordered them, they feel like an obligation for you?! 😉
Yes. Yes, ma'am, indeed. 😆 At least I finally figured that out and can actively stop myself even with BOTM offers that I can rejoin for free.
